My friend Walbach went a step further. He made my sword, gave me a shield that no longer worked for him and made me a new grip for it. He made me leg armor and he completely revamped my helm so that it fit properly and so I could actually see out of it. Walbach he is is kind of heart and gentle of spirit... oh and he kicks my butt often. My most precious piece of heavy fighting bling is the helm that he worked so hard to make pretty (the eyebrows rawk).

Black -n- Blue

The modern definition of bling is "a term that refers to elaborate jewelry and other accouterments". But, this site is not about modern so... we define bling as any decoration, embellishment, enhancement or accoutrement that adds a little something special.

Heavy fighters in the SCA (The Society for Creative Anachronism) are known for getting little reminders of how much they are appreciated and cared for by other fighters. At heavy fighter practice the Shire of Sylvan Glen's heavy marshal, Klaus was given an especially affectionate pat by a left handed swords man. The result was quite spectacular and I feel it truly qualifies as bling.I am thinking that affixing a few beads of brass or copper would have a lovely effect.

Beads and Bling of a Princess Bride

It was four days before my darling sister's wedding. The wedding hour came and went. The bride was breathtaking, a true vision of radiant light on a crisp, snowy winters eve. Yet, I remain unsatisfied. There are pieces missing that at some point must go on the gown. Until then they will have to make due in my bead box waiting for the day they will join their friends as beads and bling of a Princess Bride.
